While NONE of us want toys to be unsafe, we do not agree with a broad enforcement the way this law is written. This law would require EVERY manufacturer of a product designed for children under 12 to submit every item they make to costly end unit testing for lead and pthalates. As we all know, fabrics and textiles don't have lead in them, nor do they have pthalates. But to the enforcers of this law, it doesn't matter. Those of us who stay home with our children and sew diapers in our spare time do not have the funds to submit every single item we create to end unit testing, nor can we afford the fines that can be opposed if we are caught selling such items after the 10th of February.
